How long is the typical wait time?
It's difficult for us to guarantee a wait time, as wait times will vary based on the day of the week, time of day, patient care required, and how many patients are currently waiting to see a doctor. Our staff will do their best to keep you updated on wait times.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please ensure that you bring your provincial health care card and government-issued photo identification with you. If you do not have a physical healthcare card but you know the number, our staff will request government-issued photo identification to verify it. We do this to ensure the prevention of fraud and identity theft.
I've been here before. Do I still need my healthcare card?
Absolutely. We must verify your identity and coverage on every visit. This is to ensure that we are dealing with the correct patient, and that your provincial coverage is still valid.
I lost my provincial healthcare card. What do I do?
If your Alberta Health card is lost, missing, or stolen, you must report it immediately to the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) so they may issue you a new one. You may contact them at (780) 427-1432. If you have impaired hearing, you may access their Teletype line at (780) 427-9999.
What is MyHealth Alberta and how can I use it?
MyHealth Alberta is a free app from the Government of Alberta that gives Albertans aged 14 and older secure access to their personal health records — right from their phone.
With the app you can:
- View medical records, lab results, and immunization history (including COVID-19 reports)
- Track medications dispensed at Alberta pharmacies over the past 18 months
- Connect health data from Apple Health and supported devices like blood-pressure monitors and fitness trackers
- Share records securely with trusted family members or your healthcare provider
- Access your digital Alberta Health card through the integrated Alberta Wallet
The app is available for free on iOS and Android. You can also sign in at myhealth.alberta.ca to manage your account online.
